Dhow Cruise in the Indian Ocean

This experience offers our guests a chance to enjoy Dar es Salaam’s coastal islands on an exclusive Dhow Boat.

Used by fishermen and travelers for centuries in & around Dar & Zanzibar, Dhow Sails feel like a slice out of a different era. The breeze billowing in pearly-white sails, reclining in the cushioned wooden hull, with nothing but translucent blue azure waters.

The Dhow leaves at 9AM from the shores of Slipway. Once aboard the crew will navigate the Dhow about a kilometer offshore, the engine will be turned off and the classic sail will be lifted. From here the winds will be the Dhow boat’s engine, while you relax at the boat and enjoy the tranquility of the Indian Ocean.

The dhow is well-maintained, comfortable and equipped with outboard engines, communication equipment, lifejackets, first- aid kits, sunshades and drink coolers. Good-quality snorkels, masks and fins are provided too.
